Pigeon Lord painting

A painting done in acrylic and white gel pen by Teigan Hockman. It is of a woman looking at the viewer with a pigeon on one shoulder and on her head. In the background is a Byzantine tower.

I was inspired by the gorgeous greenish-blue dome of the Berlin Cathedral and a wild idea about pigeons that harass people in plazas being under the control of a woman with some kind of powers. My research led me to find out that there are RAINBOW pigeons and I will be forever enamored with them.

This is only my second acrylic painting, and a my fourth or fifth painting with any kind of material. It turned out better than I thought it would. I am particularly proud of the pigeons! This was painted in preparation for the group show Expressions put on by The Whole Person at The Jones Gallery.
